How was The Agency of Chicago formed?

Agency of ChicagoSam and Don formed the business name on a road trip. They were on a road trip to Atlanta, Georgia for a Felton Family Reunion and a visit to Sam’s sister. Sam and Don wanted the name of their business to be bold, but elegant and to relate to our wonderful city…Chicago. After all, both Sam and Don are products of and take great pride in Chicago's diversity, business climate, restaurants, entertainment, and size.

Sam always liked “The Agency” as it sounds bold, and very high society. How to relate “The Agency” to Chicago? What sounds so easy now, wasn’t then. After a couple of shots from the hip on Interstate 75, somewhere in between Georgia and Tennessee with the sun blaring in our eyes Sam blurted, "The Agency of Chicago".

The name was perfect for us, it had all three criteria. Sam and Don were both excited. The partners’ only worry was if the name was already taken. Luckily when the two returned to Chicago they immediately reserved the name and registered the business.

How and when was The Agency of Chicago started?

The short answer to this is about five years ago. Don worked at a Property Management Company for a number of years and enjoyed the profession, the people, the daily hustle Chicago Imageand bustle but there was something wrong. Don didn’t see eye-to-eye with the company he was working for and its business practices. Sam and Don both had an entrepreneurial background and coupled with Don’s experience in property management and in process and procedure; Sam had always been a people person and strength is sales. They combined both their assets and decided to start The Agency of Chicago.

Shortly thereafter, The Agency of Chicago was advertised on a couple of marketing instruments and soon enough we were getting requests for proposals and Sam and Don were going out to appointments to solicit business.

  • Communication/Response Time- Whether an e-mail, phone call, conference call, or face to face we are sure to address your concerns. This leads to a timely response. The Agency of Chicago has a team of professionals that respond to your property concerns aggressively.
  • Information Systems- As most successful companies on the edge of technology, we use a centralized web based system called Salesforce, that houses all our contacts, vendors, and maintenance requests. This gives all of our employees access from the road via their Black Berry or at home on their personal computer. To further manage your property effectively.
  • Professional Development- the Illinois Condominium Law is ever evolving, technology is always changing, and our staff is always growing. We take pride in improving our employees professionally to better advise you on the day-to-day and long-term operations of your property.


These are The Agency of Chicago’s key principles that further separate us from those in our field.

We apply the above key principles in a manner conducive to our environment to be a unified leader in property management for the Chicago Metropolitan Area by discovering top resolutions to situations that arise with building management, relationship management, fiscal administration guided by municipal and state law.
